Considering that I am now officially in the Autophagy field, I have a lot to catch up on. This one process in our cells, which we take for granted, much like that the other garbage removing analogs in our society, is so crucial that its malfunction is enough to make your system go haywire. There is so much unknown that the one thing we can be thankful for is that the field of molecular biology is advanced enough to give us tools to study it. Increases your respect for scientists in the 60s who figured out so many mysteries just by the virtue of their brilliance and perseverance.
Year 1. Day 1. Let's see if I can find my place in this circle of life, this wheel of fortune. A year from now we'll review my progress, here on this space or who knows where. Wish me luck (and good data)!
